Analysis of Similarity (ANOSIM)

This is an important and useful tool in testing the significance of multivariate is used in environmental community analysis...e.g. comparing the abundance of species composition in two different localities.  It is frequently used in conjunction with Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) which XLSTAT supports

Both ANOSIM and ADONIS can now be accessed using the XLSTAT-R interface that calls the Vegan package.

For more info on how to set up XLSTAT-R in your XLSTAT interface, please visit this page.

Very powerful nonparametric tool.  It is the logical follow on to see if the grouping you are seeing in MDS is significant.  e-Primer, which is very expensive, and only runs on PC (nonMac) computers, uses this as a major tool.  Having ANOSIM in XLSTAT would make it available for those not able to afford e-Primer or without the inclination to delve into R.

How do I do this ?

Sorry Im a Newbie but Im keen to learn..

    Any help is appreciated.

I'm trying to work out how to compare statistics over the years between demographics and the amount of people using illicit drugs. To determine which group has had the most impact etc... and if its changing between the age groups or staying the same...

I wish there was an easy way to do this to save me having to break down everything.

    Any suggestions would be great.
